Mobile session replay ยท Planned

See what customers actually did, without seeing what they typed.

Session replay is planned and is not available in the current beta. This page outlines the intended React Native and Expo SDK, privacy controls, and playback experience. No release date is announced.

Snapshots and events,not video.

The planned approach uses masked native snapshots and a short event timeline instead of continuous video. The controls below describe design requirements for a future release, not capabilities available today.

  1. 01

    Consent and a visible indicator

Recording starts only after explicit consent, and the device shows that a session is being recorded.

  2. 02

Masking before anything leaves the device

Text inputs, sensitive views, and anything you mark are masked on the device, before persistence and before upload.

  3. 03

    Bounded storage and uploads

Sessions are spooled locally within fixed limits and uploaded only when complete. No live streaming.

  4. 04

    Sampling and a kill switch

Remote policy controls the sample rate and can stop recording across every device immediately.

  5. 05

    Retention and deletion

Every session has a retention window. Deletion removes the storage object, not just the row.

  6. 06

Owner and admin only, at first

Viewing and managing replays is restricted to workspace owners and admins during the initial release.

Planned platforms

  1. 01

React Native with Expo, iOS and Android

Development and production builds, delivered first.

  2. 02

    Future replay beta

Documented compatibility, retention, deletion, consent, privacy controls, and operational limits.

  3. 03

Native UIKit, SwiftUI, Views, and Compose

Through the same iOS and Android engines, validated separately. Sharing an engine does not assume framework compatibility.

Deliberately not included

  • Browser recording
  • System-wide screen capture
  • Background capture
  • Live streaming
  • Remote control
  • Audio
  • Keyboard values
  • Request and response bodies
  • Automatic logs
  • Heatmaps and funnels
  • AI interpretation of replays
  • Crash-triggered prebuffering

Replay exists to show you a completed session from your own app. Anything that would turn it into surveillance stays out.

Private beta

Replay is planned. The proposed Free plan includes 1,000 sessions with 7-day retention, but availability and limits are not final. Request access to the current research and monitoring beta.

Invitations are sent by email.
